Hey Everyone!
I just did my first makeup tutorial which was a lot more fun than I expected. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkbe7s-ZRtU There is something exhilarating about the thought of recording something that could potentially be seen by and help thousands of people. I did a wild cat eye inspired by Evan Rachel Woods look at the Venice Film Festival in preparation for the New Year's Eve party that I attended at the Sheraton Hotel. I was accompanied by my wonderful husband, Tommy and the fabulous Wade Lee Richards from The House of Wade Lee. During the makeup tutorial, I also tested Maybelline's Master Precise Black Ink Pen which will be my focus for this blog.
While I have always been a fan of MAC's Blacktrack Fluideline, I am always looking for the next best thing. And in this case, the next best thing that doesn't cost a small fortune. There are several great ink pens on the market but they tend to be on the expensive side especially considering that these products are for single person use. I picked up this ink pen at Walmart for about $6.
What I expect from an eye liner or ink pen, in general, is to give me a smooth fluid line. Unfortunately, the product did not behave that way. I found that when I first just outlined my upper and lower lash line that the precision tip worked great in filling in and getting extremely close to the lashes. However, when creating a line with the ink pen, I could not control the flow so it was difficult to get a solid, smooth line. As a result, I had to use Makeup Forever's Black Cake Shadow to smooth out the imperfections. So, the questions are, would I use this product again and do I think it was worth the $6?
Let's just say that I will continue to use MAC's Blacktrack Fluidline and the search continues.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more!
