Here we go!

Hello World!

Well...here we are...my first blog. 30 years old (in a month) and dragging my feet every step of the way in the technology department. I just found Face book about a year ago and now I am diving head first into a blog and posting my thoughts out there for the world to see!

I guess I should start at the beginning and tell you a little bit about myself. I am a mother to a beautiful baby boy who will be two in December! I also have a wonderful supportive husband who loves me for me.  I am a makeup artist in Arizona and received my certification from the Skin and Makeup Institute of Arizona. I had the good fortune of having my teacher/mentor be Corinna Bertram who is an outstanding makeup artist and motivator. Honestly, without her guidance, I do not believe I would be where I am today!  I do a lot of fashion events/shoots and weddings, and most recently, I did the hair and makeup for the DMX music video that was filmed here, in AZ.

I also have an upcoming show with RAW Natural Born Artist on December 9th! Check out http://www.rawartists.org/phoenix/holidayrawk  to purchase tickets, make sure to select me (Rachel Koszegi) as the artist you want to support.  It will be at the Foundry on 1st and, if you have not been to a RAW event, it is a must go. I was just at the Foundry for the RAW event that was on the 4th supporting my friend Wade Lee from the House of Wade. He was participating in the competition for "hair" and had beautiful models in wedding dresses with the most amazing hair. And, if any fashion event is an event to be at, you will see David Kidd!  I also met some amazing people at this event. Competing in the makeup category: Courtney  Luv, fashion category: Hell on Heels Couture, accessory category: Jill "Spill" Fressinier and recording artist category: Jasmine Hormez.  They all had some crazy beautiful "out of the box" designs. It is so great to be in a place with so much art in so many forms. I also had the great pleasure of meeting Jo Lance, an international fashion photographer and a judge on Mexico's next Top Model.

Makeup has always been that escape for me. I love everything about it. I am always looking for new and exciting projects. I don't know if I have a particular style...I would say, whatever type of makeup I am doing at the moment, that is my style. My goals are bigger than any words could express and honestly, change daily. I envision myself working on movies or in theatre... ok, anything really that would allow me to live my dream of doing makeup. Please check out www.facebook.com/brushed and "like" me!

Now that you have a bit of a background on me...let's talk a bit about the new loves in my life.

SIGMA!!! Check out Sigmabeauty.com . Ok, so Sigma has this "Eyes Kit" brush set for just over $50!!! A friend of mine told me that these brushes were similar to MAC brushes and, anyone who knows brushes knows, MAC has amazing brushes at a premium price. Anyone who knows ME, knows I love me some brushes! The thought of being able to get MAC quality brushes at such a low price had my mind buzzing. So I had to do it...I had to order some and try them out for myself.  And now I have a new love in my life....or to be exact, 7. Medium Angled Shading, Tapered Blending, Small Angle are my favorites. The angled shading and the tapered blending brushes are just that, shading and blending perfection. It makes doing that smokey eye a breeze. As for the Small Angle brush...I could not live without it. It is great for eye liner. For just a simple, thin eye line application or a crazy cat eye, this brush will help you do it. So if you are looking for great brushes at a reasonable price then look no further. I know I have found my new "brush" hook up!

Switching over to my favorite look....I am soooo into this look right now: nude lips, the "pop" with the eyes and blush, face and lips light and neutral. Check out The 12 Sexiest New Fall Makeup Trends on Allure.com.

This look is amazing! The metallic shadow just pops out and makes her eyes grab you and demand your attention right this second. Love, Love and Love again! They also have some other great pictures with RED lips and light eyes but, something about this picture just grabbed my attention and said          "Hot Hot Hot!" I had to go out and recreate this look immediately. I used  Anthracite from Makeup Forever, Dazzlesphere Winter Sky and Dark Moon pigments from MAC. (NEW pigment from MAC that are amazing) and for my liner, without hesitation, I used Black Track Fluid line from MAC. To complete the look I kept the blush super light using cubic from MAC and, for that final touch, I used MAC's Freshly Brewed lipstick. It was simply          flawless and my new favorite look.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you come back for more.
